NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences
The Department for Primary Education of NHL Stenden is spread over 5 campuses in the North of the Netherlands and provides full and part-time teacher training programmes, as well as a few professional masters. Their educational concept combines an interdisciplinary approach, with real-world assignments to solve. Practical application of innovative solutions is at the core of this method. NHL Stenden works with Design Based Education (DBE), whereby ideas are turned into practical solutions, often in an international context. Students work in small inter-disciplinary groups on assignments from actual schools or stakeholders. DBE places a strong emphasis on the personal development of our students, with them being responsible for their own learning path.
