Nomination in LC Awards for BabelAR research
Our interns Engelina Smeins and Kirsten Wildenburg have been nominated for the LC-Awards for their research on the application of BabelAR! Until June 6, you can vote for them to win the audience award!
Kirsten and Engelina are doing their Master Multilingualism at the University of Groningen and currently are interns at Mercator European Research Centre. They have interested in the question how VirtuLApp can help in the promotion of language awareness and an open attitude towards multilingualism. For this, they have conducted research with pre-service teachers in Fryslân, the Basque country and in Belgium.
The LC-awards are annual awards hosted by the Leeuwarder Courant for the best essay in Fryslân by students at the Frisian educational institutes. Eighteen students or student groups have been nominated for their research, project or practical assignment. A jury will decide the winner for three categories: the best project at vocational education level, the best project for bachelor students and the best project for master students (the last two are both for the University of Applied Sciences and University).
There is also a fourth prize to be won among the nominees: the audience award. From May 26 to June 6, people can vote on their favourite project! In a raffle, ten gift cards can be won by the voters.
How can I vote on Kirsten and Engelina? On www.lc.nl/awards you can watch the nominees present their project in short video’s (press “stemmen” to go to the videos).
